Kristin Davis Recalls Being Ghosted by Successful Actor
Kristin Davis understands dating today because she plays these roles in And Just Like That and Sex and the City.
On Monday January 20 she talked about this topic during her podcast Are You a Charlotte? Davis shared that at age 59 she let a jobless actor borrow $5,000 yet he vanished without a word.
Davis reported on her podcast to Wynter how this actor blew her mind with his reaction when she gave him $5000.
She shared that when she started working on SATC she borrowed money to help a struggling actor who has since built a successful career. Davis gave him all the $5000 he owned because she saw signs on his property that alerted about impending energy service termination. The motorcycle crash meant he required medical recovery and couldn't show up for tryouts.
Davis explained "His talent shined but given I worked for money things changed."The relationship structure became harmful quickly yet I still wasn't smart enough.th the real-life rollercoaster ride of modern dating.
During the Monday, January 20, episode of her podcast, “Are You a Charlotte?” Davis, 59, stated that she once lent a “out-of-work” actor $5,000 before he swiftly ghosted her.
Davis, who starred Charlotte York on the classic HBO series Sex and the City before resuming the role for the 2021 revival, told podcast guest Sarah Wynter — who participated in the SATC pilot — that the man’s response to her charitable gesture astonished her.
She recounted how the man was a “out-of-work actor” she’d been seeing before starting on SATC, who is now “very successful.” Davis had loaned him “all of $5,000,” after discovering signs around his home that threatened to shut off his energy. She’d also discovered he had “wrecked his motorcycle” so he was unable to attend auditions.
“He was very talented, but, at the time, I had money because I’d been working,” Davis stated. “It changed the dynamic in a horrible way … but I probably should have known better. Eventually he stopped taking my money after I gave it to him. He received my response like 'What is this?'

The man became angrier after Davis approached him directly instead of handling business normally.
According to Davis during her interview she repeatedly knocked on his apartment door. He owned a special dog that I loved listening to through the door. I wondered if someone else lived in that space while he stayed hidden inside.
After Davis knocked on the door she received a phone call from the man who wanted to know if she had actually been there.
Heang Davis responded 'Yes' to his question. I couldn't believe how poorly I acted by knocking on someone else's door. I want him to notice me even though it exists only in my mind.
Although she shielded his name Davis explained how this person currently lives. She told me she hesitates to visit him in his country home because there are children on the property.
Davis thinks her behavior then represented a terrible error and tells viewers to learn from her errors. Davis explained firmly "Don't go ahead with it." “It doesn’t end well.”
Charlotte Davis from SATC and AJLT continuously met exciting dating experiences throughout these shows' six seasons and two seasons. The premiere of AJLT's third season this year continues following the August 2023 renewal with Charlotte staying married to Harry Goldenblatt played by Evan Handler.
In real-life, Davis is unmarried and a mother to two adopted children: She adopted Gemma Rose in 2011 and Wilson in 2018 to become the proud mother.
